I’m doing a communion meditation at church tomorrow.  I thought I would share with you fine readers:

My job this summer is to clean the buildings.  This gets boring and repetitive and sometimes, I just don’t find the buildings all that dirty.  At times, we may think that communion gets boring and repetitive.  I mean, we do it every week.  We know it’s important, we know we should do it, but do we really see a difference?  Our lives aren’t that dirty.

I have to clean the buildings even though they may not be dirty.  But unlike the buildings, our lives are dirty and always need to be cleaned.  And the only way to clean it out is through confessing our sins and communing with Christ at least weekly through the Lord’s Supper.

Here is your opportunity to do some housekeeping of your own.
