From Dad:

Hey all…..important announcements brought to you by your friendily Johnson Bible College faculty member.

1st….spread the word.  Attendence at Seminar Day is REQUIRED this semester.  It takes place on Wednesday, August 24th from 9am-4pm with a two hour break for lunch.  You will be REQUIRED to scan in for the seminar.

2nd…spread the word.  Continuing students who don’t show up for the all student assenbly and registration on Tuesday, August 23rd will probably be dropped from the JBC system.  This means that those students will have to start from ground zero in their registration process.  This also means that classes that the student currently has scheduled might be filled before the student re-registers.  Don’t let this happen to you!  Be here for all student assembly on Tuesday morning or suffer the consequences.

3rd…spread the word.  Attendance at the Tuesday evening convocation will be REQUIRED for all students.  This means that every student is expected to attend and scan in when entering the gymnasium.

I don’t want to see any of you suffer any penalities because of a lack of being informed.  With the permission of the Academic Dean, I am giving you fair warning.  Please do your best to make sure others know.

I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize.  You see, I sat in on one of the faculty meetings.  It was I who told Dr. Beam that no one would come to anything unless it was required.  I didn’t know that he would be able to actually pull it off.  I’m sorry to load this on you guys, but the faculty has been working their tails off to make this start of school be smooth, the least you could do is show up to the things they planned.

Note: Of the things listed above, I believe that only the All-Student Assembly is really “required” (as in you’re dead if you don’t come), the rest just count as chapels.  I think.

Note 2: Please repost Dad’s Xanga entry on your own, if you think people might read your site who don’t read mine.

  1. i’m with dj on this one (and many others i’m sure). maybe i’ll show up to seminar day just for the fact that i could get up and walk out, whilst and at the same time, wearing shorts, piercing my ears, and playing co-ed go fish. then again, maybe i would just show up because i admire dr. dobson’s work and ministry.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m glad to hear it has nothing to do with walk through the bible. If it did I would have to take a very long bathroom break. But this one sounds somewhat interesting and appropriate for college students. (Not that learning preschool hand motions to the entire Bible isn’t.)
