Who wants to be blogring leader?  I’m getting too old for this crap.

An Update? An Update!

Long time no entry.  Well, to be honest, since I’ve gotten married I don’t spend much extra time on the net.  Too busy living my life to be sharing it with you fine readers.  But not today.  This news is too important to be kept to myself.

We’re moving.

Now, before you flip your collective lids, Dayle is not leaving school early.  We’re moving to a house for rent just down Kimberlin Heights here.  She and I will both commute a mile and a half.  We decided to start looking for a place to live off campus before Dayle graduates in May.  I happened to see in the mailroom that Dr. Householder had a house for rent, so we called them up and were very interested.  On Sunday we took a look at it and decided that yes, we would take it.  So we’re packing up and hope to move in on the 15th.

In celebration of not living on campus, we did the first thing every person does when they leave here: we bought a dog.  Not just any dog, a puppy.  Not just any puppy, a purebred Silky Terrier.  He’s on hold at PassPets in West Town Mall and we should be able to pick him up as soon as we move in.  We’re excited about that.

After buying the dog while Dayle was at work, I went out and saw Superman Returns.  And I was severely disappointed… in everyone who said they were disappointed in the movie.  What did you go in expecting?  I went expecting excitement and special effects done right.  I got both.  I also got some heartwarming moments and well done dramatic tension.  I really don’t know what people think is the problem.  Yeah, its not Batman Begins but it’s not like they can restart every comic book franchise from scratch.

Well, I’d better get to work.  These computer labs won’t set up themselves.

Here’s my plans for the next few days:

Thursday night: hang out with Chadwick, Tucker, Priest, and the like.

Friday night: same.

Saturday afternoon: go to Priest’s wedding.

Saturday night: go out with the Korffs for Zach’s birthday.

Sunday morning: go to church at Jefferson City.

Sunday afternoon: see King Kong with the Browns.

Just letting you know, in case you want to.

From Fark.com (in reference to a website that said that you know you’re having Thanksgiving with nerds when the turkey gets to roll a saving throw):

The turkey will almost certainly not get a saving throw. He’ll only get it if he survives the damage from the coup de grace, which is an automatic critical. If somehow he survives this, then the turkey will get a fortitude save DC10 + Damage received or die.

Provided you’re a normal sized creature with no strength modifier using a handaxe (d6 x 3 crit) to decapitate the turkey, which I’m guessing is a 2 HP creature, you’re going to succeed. If I’m wrong and it’s a 4 HP creature, I guess 1 out of 6 will survive the first attack and get to the saving throw where they will then have to make a DC 13 saving throw, minus a +2 fort bonus, meaning the turkey will have to roll an 11 to survive to the next round.

It will take you a full round and you will provoke attacks of opportunity from all his turkey allies.

I know only about 7 of you will get it, but I thought it was funny.

My mother-in-law got me Battlefront II for my birthday (which is today).  And people complain about their mothers-in-law…

So tonight I’m having a few people come over to battle alongside me as
